一、China
In 2022, China took the top spot as the global T – shirt exporter, with an export value of approximately 148 billion U.S. dollars. You know, the term ‘T – shirts’ is quite broad. It can refer to the materials used in making T – shirts, like the fabrics, and also the completed T – shirts themselves.
二、European Union
The European Union came in second place. Its export value was around 71 billion U.S. dollars, which is almost half of China’s. So, you can see how dominant China is in this market. In fact, China’s exports accounted for nearly 41.4 percent of the entire global T – shirt export market.
Now, let’s talk about the different types of T – shirts. There are several ways to classify them. One common way is by the component fibers. There are five main types of fibers that T – shirts can be made from: silk, which is so smooth and luxurious; wool, nice and warm; linen, with its unique texture; cotton, soft and breathable; and inorganic fibers. Way back in history, before people knew how to weave these fibers into T – shirts for wearing, the first T – shirt – like items were probably made from animal skins. The T – shirt industry has come a long way since then. It’s now so industrialized that it’s almost unrecognizable compared to its humble beginnings.
China’s T – shirt industry is a huge deal. It’s the largest T – shirt producer and exporter in the world. Over the past two decades, it has grown like crazy and has become one of the main pillars of the Chinese economy. Goods like T – shirts, T – shirt accessories, T – shirt yarns, and other T – shirt – related articles are among China’s top exports. There are several reasons for China’s success in this industry. For one thing, the cost is low because there’s a large labor force available. Also, there are fewer commercial barriers these days, and the supply of materials is great. For example, when it comes to cotton, China is one of the top three producers in the world. But, it’s worth noting that Chinese T – shirt production has gone down a bit in recent years.
