Cotton is the key material for making T-shirts. Cotton T-shirts accounted for $35.8 billion in international sales, accounting for far more than two-thirds of total T-shirt exports (69.2%). The remaining 30.8 percent, similar clothing made from non-cotton textiles, was valued at $15.9 billion. Most T-shirts are made of pure cotton
According to statistics, from 2022 to 2023, the international sales of cotton T-shirts for export as a whole have declined significantly, by 11.7%. International revenues for T-shirts made from non-cotton materials also grew, but at a slower pace (down 7.8% compared to 2022).
